I was waiting for a bus today in a part of downtown where there are planters lining the street. As you might imagine, the planters are usually full of garbage, since a lot of people can't be bothered to walk six steps to the garbage can. A gentleman walked around the planter that I was standing next to and cleaned it up. At first I thought that he was employed either by the city or by the building in front of which the planters sit.
Nope. He finished his self-appointed task, threw away the trash, and hopped on the same bus that I was waiting for.
Imagine if each and every one of us took two minutes a day to do something similar. I'll try it if you will.
I'm in!! I find myself picking up trash off the baseball/soccer field (read juice box parts, etc) as well as all of the cr@p that folks leave behind in their grocery carts.

So far, so good. I picked up some assorted papers and garbage on my way to spending way too much money on a couple pairs of glasses today.
